COMMUNITY ISSUES
The building blocks of a brighter future.
There’s a famous saying often attributed to Benjamin Franklin: “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” That’s why Billy Specht is entering into his campaign for Titusville City Council Seat #3 with a plan for how to best serve you.
Here’s what Billy will focus on from Day 1:
PUBLIC SAFETY
You can count on Billy to champion and support all efforts to keep our community safe. He stands behind our police as they combat crime and shield our children and families from drugs and criminal activity. He supports our first responders who bravely fight fires, respond to emergencies, and risk their lives to ensure our safety and health. Billy believes our police and first responders deserve leaders who champion for competitive pay, a great work environment, and the best tools and equipment for efficient and safe work.
RESPONSIBLE GROWTH
Growth is inevitable and sometimes desirable. However, there are some proposed projects that could harm the integrity of our unique community. In those instances, Billy will vote against developments that threaten our safety, our quality of life, and our small-town atmosphere. He will fight against developers trying to transform Titusville into something it is not. He will work to preserve Titusville’s uniqueness, and not allow us to become like South Florida, South Brevard, or Orlando.
IMPROVE ROADS & INFRASTRUCTURE
Immediate improvements are crucial to maintain quality of life and support sensible growth. Sewer leaks are unacceptable and preventable. Billy has first-hand knowledge of how to address aging infrastructure and improve roads. As General Manager at The Great Outdoors RV & Golf Resort, Billy leads community repaving projects and numerous infrastructure improvements. He knows how to ensure city staff are held accountable to do their best in terms of proper planning and execution, too. This experience has equipped him to lead Titusville toward a brighter future, marked by transparency and urgency.
WATER QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
It’s imperative that we take strong action NOW to clean and safeguard our Indian River Lagoon. Billy is committed to big thinking, working with experts, and securing additional funding from the Save our Indian River Lagoon ½ cent tax. Billy won’t stop until the best solutions are in place to ensure clean water and a vibrant lagoon for generations to come. From people to wildlife, we depend on clean waterways and rich natural resources to protect our quality of life.
SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES
Small businesses bring diverse new jobs to our area. They also help fulfill the needs of local workers and their families, making it a more attractive place to live. Billy plans to help revitalize vacant and blighted buildings so that they can become viable storefronts for new local business. Redevelopment is one way that we can advocate for smart economic development — without pushing toward overgrowth.
